Silversea, the premier brand in unique luxury and adventure travel, embarks on its 2025 World Cruise, Controtempo, on a route less traveled to 59 destinations across 30 countries. Launching from Tokyo on January 13, 2025, and concluding in New York on May 29, 2025, travelers will explore a mix of iconic urban centers and hidden treasures in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America during the less frequented seasons, emphasizing deep cultural immersion.

“Controtempo will open the world to even the most well-traveled guests like never before, allowing them to journey deeper into four diverse continents,” said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. “Traveling from East to West, Controtempo – a musical term meaning ‘off-tempo’ – will take guests closer to the authentic heartbeat of iconic and unique destinations, with more time ashore to experience the world’s most enriching destinations during unconventional seasons. And, sailing aboard Silver Dawn for the first time, our World Cruise guests will enjoy an enhanced onboard experience, including the best of our innovative S.A.L.T. culinary and Otium wellness programs. Together with our exclusive signature events, which we have specially curated to give our guests an experience they can’t get anywhere else, guests will explore the world in a new light.”

Controtempo is crafted to offer a fresh rhythm and rare insight into the world, blending unique experiences with genuine cultural engagement, aimed at revealing the essence and stories of each locale. This journey reshapes the perspective of even the most seasoned travelers by presenting unseen facets of famous destinations and undiscovered spots alike.

This World Cruise spans nine distinct legs and introduces 19 first-time stops for a Silversea voyage, providing unparalleled access to metropolitan hubs like Tokyo and Paris as well as secluded spots off the traditional tourist track.

For the first time, a Muse-Class vessel, the Silver Dawn built in 2021, navigates a World Cruise, featuring cutting-edge culinary and wellness programs—S.A.L.T. and Otium, respectively.

Upon arriving in Tokyo, the cruise kicks off with a seamless integration of hospitality and local culture, including a Bon Voyage lunch hosted by Silversea’s leadership and a vibrant sendoff with Japanese drummers, setting the stage for the adventure that lies ahead.

Throughout Controtempo, passengers will delve deeper into each destination through seven exclusive events tailored to the World Cruise experience, offering intimate, culturally rich experiences:
